Armenia is the capital of Colombia's Quindio region and is located 290 kilometers from Bogota. Armenia is one of the three major cities in Colombia and is the country's second largest city. The city is about 1500 meters above sea level. It has the municipalities of Circasia and Salento in the north, Montenegro in the west, Calarca in the east and the municipality of La Tabeida in the south. Due to the rapid development and urban growth of the citys economy, it is referred to as the "Miracle City" and is walking in the production of coffee, plantains and bananas.

Even though the tourist industry does not try much in the northern part of the city, which is close to sea level, it is also part of its tourism economy with thanks to its villas, restaurants, parks, hotels and rental services. Besides this, with thanks to activities such as, exhibition centers, city clubs, fishing, tennis, golf and cultural sports, it provides development to the tourist economy. In the city there is El Eden International Airport and there are also buses that provide transportation in the city.
