The distance between Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport, the single biggest airport of Belize, which is located in a geography remaining from the Maya Civilization in Central America, and the city center of Belize City is approximately 15 kilometers. You can go to the airport from the city center by taking a taxi or airport shuttle, renting a car or making use of economical bus transfers.

Taxi

Even though Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport is close to the city center, there is no public transportation network connecting the spots to each other. Since you cannot reach the airport by public buses, which are taken actively by the people in the city, the most preferred vehicles are usually taxis. There are taxis waiting in front of the bus terminals in the city center. You can also stop a taxi by the road. Taxis charge approximately 25 American Dollars for transfer to the airport. Bus

If you find the taxi fare high and look for more economical transportation alternatives, there are also buses connecting the city center to the airport, although no direct buses are available. When you take a bus going towards Orange Walk or Corozal from the terminal in the city center and tell the driver that you want to get off somewhere near the airport in Ladyville, the driver will drop you at a junction turning towards the airport. The distance between the airport and where you get off is about 2.5 kilometers; you can either walk or take a taxi. Being the seventh biggest airport of Central America and the single biggest airport of Belize, Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport is named after a famous politician of the country, who died in 2001.  You can reach the airport, which is located approximately 15 kilometers far from Belize City in Ladyville, in 30 minutes with a car.

The altitude of the airport is 5 meters higher than the city, and it is the busiest region of this small Central American country. According to the data of 2017, the number of passengers who passed through the airport is about one million, together with 5,179 international and 25,690 domestic flights. From the airport, you can fly to several states of the United States of America and countries such as El Salvador and Panama. There are no direct flights to Philip S.W. Goldson International Airport yet. The airport is used for landing by the planes of international airline companies like US Airways, American Airlines, United Airlines, Delta Airlines, Avianca, Copa Airlines, and TACA. The runway of this fully equipped airport, which opened in 1990, is 9,700 meters in length, and in addition to the international flights, there are domestic flights to several destinations via Tropic Air and Maya Island Air.

Apart from public transport, taxis also provide fast transportation in the city. The taximeter starts running at 2 euros and charges 1.5 euros per 1 km. Taxis are usually easy to find in the city.

Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport is Germany’s second largest airport after Stuttgart Airport. The airport is located 40 km from Karlsruhe city center. It takes between 35 and 60 minutes to get to the city from the airport, depending on what method of transportation you use. You can get to the city center by bus, train, taxi, or rental car.

Bus

Buses are one of the easiest ways to get to the city center from the airport. The bus network in Karlsruhe is well developed, conveniently connecting the city and its surroundings. The bus from the airport to the city center is another example of this advanced system. Buses in Karlsruhe run half an hour longer in the summer months, which are from March to October, and run from 6:30 am to 10:30 pm during the winter season.

You can purchase bus tickets at the airport as well as from the driver once you are on board. Tickets can only be purchased in cash. Children under the age of 6 ride for free. The ticket price for children between the ages of 6 and 14 is 5 euros. A single use ticket for adults cost 10 euros.

There is only 1 bus line that provides direct transportation from the airport to Karlsruhe. Hahn Express bus 140 provides convenient transportation to the city center.

Buses that depart from Karlsruhe/Baden-Baden Airport travel to Frankfurt Airport but they stop in Karlsruhe. You can also use buses 234 and 285 to get to the city from the airport. However these buses don’t provide direct transportation to the city center; these buses provide transportation to nearby areas where you will have to transfer to another vehicle to reach the city center.

Train

Another transportation alternative to get to the city center from the airport is by train. Trains are a faster and more punctual transportation alternative compared to buses. Deutsche Bahn operates the railway network in Germany. The Karlsruhe Hauptbahnhof (HBF) and Ice Train (Intercity Express) are affiliated with this company and provide transportation from the airport to the city center in conjunction with each other.

You can also use the Karlsruhe Stadtbahn tram-train system, which is located at a distance from the airport, to get to the city center from the airport. There are 55 trains that run daily. Trains operate 24 hours a day and take between 15 and 22 minutes to get to the city center.

Ticket prices for the train vary between 11 and 16 euros. Tickets can be purchased at the stations. The last stop for trains S4 and S41 are Karlsruhe. There are also other trains that pass through the city.

Taxi

If you don’t want to take public transportation to get to the city center from the airport then you can take a taxi. Taxis are readily available at the terminal exit. There are 5 different companies that provide service from the airport to the city center. These companies are Taxi AA-S Nier, Taxi Ahmed, Taxi Airpark, Taxi Alex and Taxi Baden Airpark. It usually takes about 20 minutes to get to the city from the airport by cab. This can vary depending on the traffic conditions. A taxi to the city from the airport costs about 30 euros.

Car

Another transportation alternative to get to the city is by car. You can rent a car at the airport. Rental car companies that you can choose from include Enterprise, Buchbinder, and Avis Autovermietung. You can get to the city center by car via the A5 motorway and B36 expressway.
