About Brno

Brno is known for being the second largest city in the Czech Republic and the former capital of the Moravia region. The city has an important place in the national economy thanks to its rapidly increasing population in parallel to its evolving industry and other businesses. Although it is not as big of a city as Prague, Brno has many historic buildings worth seeing and is quite close to the capital, Prague, and the capital of Austria, Vienna. This close proximity enables tourists to visit these 3 cities easily.

Brno experiences a continental climate; summers are hot and dry and winters are quite cold and snowy. Since the temperature can vary quite a bit between daytime and nighttime, we recommend taking a warm scarf or cardigan with you in your bag. Many cities around the world have direct flights to Prague, from which you can take a 3-hour train ride to Brno and begin to explore the city’s unique beauty.

The city offers rich alternatives in eating and drinking, from traditional Czech food, featuring lots of red meat and dishes prepared with mushrooms, to many examples of international cuisine. The city is ideal to visit almost anytime during the year but the best time to comfortably sightsee and explore would be during the spring and summer.
