Port Harcourt is the capital of Nigeria and is also the largest city of the country. The city consists of flat areas and lies along the Bonny River in the Niger Delta.

Port Harcourt is one of the most developed metropolises of the country and is also known as 'Garden City' with its fancy streets. Besides many state-owned higher education institutions, modern buildings and the infrastructure show the development of the city's economy. Palm oil, palm, timber and coal are also important production sources of the city. In Port Harcourt, bicycle, truck installation and boat building are also among the active business lines.

The city experiences a tropical and wet climate and especially in September it gets the heaviest rainfall. During the dry season in December and January, the city's river beaches are full of tourists. The most popular beach which has the same name as the city, is a man-made beach consisting of white sands and artificial waves which was created in 1988. In the restaurants and bars around the artificial beach, they give a summer atmosphere. It is in Port Harcourt, where you will observe a safer and calmer structure compared to other cities in Nigeria. Rivers State Cultural Museum, where the finest examples of African pottery art are exhibited and Isaac Boro Garden Park, the zoo and the open market are among other the places to visit.

Port Harcourt International Airport is located on the outskirts of the city and operates direct flights to Europe. You can transfer by airport taxi, bus or by renting a car.
