For transportation here, you can get on the bus number 732 from the Sintagma and Omonoia squares in the city center of Athens, getting off on the third stop, Evangelimos Hospital stop and changing on to bus number X95, arriving at the airport after about an hour-long trip. X96, however, provides transportation to the Pire Port and from Pire, to the airport. 

Rail System

Passing through Monastiraki and Sintagma, located in the city center, the M3 line takes you directly to the Airport. However, from the Omonoia Square you can get on the M1 line to get to Monastiraki switching to line M2 which will get you to Sintagma from where you can get on a bus to the airport. 

The M3 line also can get you to important places like the Benaki museum, Athens Academy and Athens Concert hall.

Private Vehicle

Athens, unlike western European cities, does not have orderly streets and boulevards. You can get to the Airport via private vehicle in 30 to 40 minutes and park it in the 1360 capacity parking lot.

Airport Information

Hosting more than 15 million visitors annually, the airport offers its passengers and their close ones places to spend their time  fruitfully. With health and maintenance facilities located within the airport, there is also a small archaeological and Acropolis exhibition.

There are also galleries where temporary exhibitions take place in the Airport. It is rich in terms of eating, drinking and shopping. There is a large Duty Free in the airport where you can find everything related to the Mediterranean culture and cuisine.

Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport, which is 22 kilometers outside Salerno city center, is also known as Salerno-Pontecagnano Airport. The number of vehicles you can use to reach the city center after landing to the airport is not much. On the other hand, after landing to the airport, you can take one of the taxis waiting in front of the terminal, or evaluate the car rental alternatives with or without driver. If you prefer to travel to different districts after arriving from the airport to the center, you can go to the train station and continue with the trains from there.

Train

The trains are not connected directly to the Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport, but it's easy to get to the station from the airport, which is not far away. You just have to take one of the taxis waiting for passengers in front of the terminal and tell them you want to go to the station. One of the closest stations to the airport is the Pontecagnano station. From here you have a chance to get on the trains getting to different parts of Italy.

Bus

You can also reach the city center of Salerno From the airport by bus, which is a much more affordable means compared to the taxi. You can arrive to the center in a short time by bus number 8, line Salerno-Battipaglia.

Car Rental

You can rent a car, with or without a driver, from the Hertz office at the airport, and you can easily travel to both the city center and other nearby areas. To get to the city center, it will be enough to follow the signposts going towards Salerno after you leave the airport. If you have not driven in this area before, try to obtain a map or navigation device while at the airport. By doing so, you can find your direction more easily along the way. Car rental offices usually operate between 09:00 and 17:30. On Saturdays and Sundays, the opening and closing times of offices can vary. You can make reservations in advance by taking into account the day and time of your arrival, and pick up your vehicle after landing to the city.

Private Vehicle

If you have a private car to get from the airport to the center, you can complete your journey from the airport to the city center by following the direction Salerno - Reggio Calabria. You can reach Salerno at the end of your 22 kilometers journey. You will have to drive 6 kilometers if you want to go to Pontecagnano, 10 kilometers to Battipaglia, 10 kilometers to Avellino and 63 kilometers to Naples.

Helicopter

You can rent a helicopter from Salerno Costa d'Amalfi Airport if you prefer a different and fast vehicle to reach the city center. Helicopter rental service at the airport is provided by ELISERVICE.
