You can get to the airport, which is located 25 km away, from the city center by car or a combination of the metro and airport buses.

Airport Buses

The easiest and cheapest way to get to the airport from the city center is by airport bus. Bus line 116 departs from Vurgun Park, located in central Baku, and takes about 50 minutes to get to the airport.

Metro

The metro system in Baku provides transportation to many central locations in the city like the Old City, 28 May Street, and the Caspian Sea. However, to get to the airport from the city center you have to first take the metro and then get on a bus. From central locations in the city like the Old City, Cafer Cabbari, and Khatai you can take the metro to the 28 May and Koroglu stations. From here you can get on bus line 116, which runs to the airport or take a taxi to the airport.   

Personal Car

Since the city is rich in oil, fuel is cheap, making traveling by car a very attractive option. Getting to the city center from the airport is very easy. One of the city’s most important avenues, Heydar Aliyev Avenue will connect you to the Boyuk Shor Highway, which goes to the airport. From the highway take the Airport exit. The airport contains indoor and outdoor parking lots where you can park your personal car for a certain fee.

Although it is not very large Heydar Aliyev International Airport is an important junction, especially for passengers traveling between Europe and Asia. The airport offers passengers a variety of eating, drinking, and shopping venues.

The airport has 2 terminals, Terminal 1, which was completely renovated, and Terminal 2, which serves domestic flights. The airport contains world famous fast food chains like Burger King, McDonald’s, and KFC, as well as restaurants that offer delicious flavors unique to Azerbaijani cuisine.

The international terminal has a large Duty Free shop as well as souvenir shops where you can buy items unique to Russian and Azeri culture. The airport features free wireless internet connection. 

Novosibirsk, which is the largest city of the Siberia region in terms of the surface area, is the third most populous city in Russia with one and a half million population. Novosibirsk has a very cold climate and is noted for its weather temperature that may go down to -40 in the winter months.

At the same time, the city, which is highly developed in terms of automotive and mining industry, is one of the leading centers of the world in this respect. The urban transportation is provided by metro, trolleybus, minibus, bus and taxi. However, the metro is the most convenient option for transportation. Considering the cold weather in the city and the streets are covered with snow in the winter, the metro consisting of 12 stations is the best option among the other alternatives for urban transportation. The single-pass train ticket is about 25 rubles; it is also possible to buy tickets for multiple passes as 5 or 60.

For the urban transportation, the city bus is the option that provides the best transportation alternative after metro. The private bus lines provide a faster service compared to the public transportation buses; unlike the public buses, they do not have to depart/stop at the certain stops. The ticket price for public buses is 10 rubles, while the ticket price for private buses may vary ranging from 15 to 35 rubles.

The minibuses called “Marshrutka”, which serve as a means of urban transport throughout Russia, are also available in the city of Novosibirsk. The marshrutka minibuses are so similar to the minibuses in Turkey. The ticket prices vary between 0.3 and 1$ depending on where you want to go in the city. Tramway and trolleybus attract attention as other means of transportation in the city. Trolleybus ticket prices are lower than the bus ticket prices by 8 rubles. One-way tram ticket prices are about 10 rubles.

You can pay for the tickets after getting on the public transportation vehicles. Taking a taxi and renting a car are the easiest yet the most expensive means of transportation in Novosibirsk. You can get a taxi at the taxi ranks on the road or you can call a taxi to wherever you are by contacting the taxi call centers.

Taking into consideration that the taxi drivers do not mostly activate the taximeters, bargaining in advance can be useful for a lower taxi fare. Novosibirsk Airport (Tolmachevo), which is constantly improving internationally, is about 17 kilometers west of the city. You can reach the city center from the airport within 20 and 30 minutes by car. Ticket sales are carried out at the desks of relevant station around the airport. You can also buy ticket after getting on the vehicles.

Bus

Bus is one of the most convenient means of transportation from the airport to the city center. As soon as your plane lands, it is possible to find a bus to the city. You can reach the city center by bus after stepping out of the airport terminal.

There are two different bus lines to get to the city center from the airport. These are 111E (Express) and 112E. The ticket price for the first is 38 rubles, while the other costs 30 rubles. 111E runs between 04.00 and 22.30. 112E is at your service between 05.00 and 21.00. If you are going to travel to the city center by bus, you can arrange your landing time accordingly.

Train

Train is another vehicle that provides convenient transportation to Novosibirsk city center. With the rails on the ground, the train provides a fast transportation to the city center. As you can see the train stations around the bus stops, there are also train stations that are 2 kilometers away from the airport.

The trains run between 6:30 am and 11:30 pm, including weekends.

Minibus-Taxi

Minibus taxis are the most convenient option to reach the city center, yet their price is very high. You can take advantage of the minibus taxi as an individual passenger as well as you can travel with other passengers. You can see the minibus taxis just around the airport. You can reach the city center in about 25 minutes by these vehicles. Some drivers may ask for a taxi fare more than necessary. You can bargain with the driver in advance to avoid such a situation.

Rent a car

The last option you can prefer to get to the city center is to rent a car. You can plan this service in advance according to your flight schedule before you land at Novosibirsk Airport, or you can rent a car from the companies at the airport such as Herts, Europcar and Hertz after your flight.
