Brindisi is a city in the southern Italian province of Puglia. Brindisi Salento Airport is located around 5km from the city center. It’s even possible to make the journey on foot if you don’t have heavy luggage with you. Alternatively you can take the bus, take a taxi, or rent a car.

Bus

Buses that go to the airport pass through many parts of the city. You can catch the bus from the city center or from the Via Colombo stop next to the central train station if you are travelling by train. You can take a taxi from one of the stops in the city and you reach the airport in a practical and comfortable way. However, it’s recommended to check the identification number on the side of the taxi if you are taking one from the side of the road. You may come across a lower quality of service or be demanded to pay a higher cost among the taxis that pick up passengers from the side of the road. Don’t forget to make sure that the taximeter starts running as your start your journey. Extra charges may apply for luggage in some instances.

Airport Information

Brindisi – Salento is a rather small airport that has only one terminal. There’s a special location in the building where you can find Wi-Fi services. There’s also an ATM, special services for disabled passengers, cafes, bars, restaurants and shops to ensure you have a pleasant time.

Pisa, reminiscent of a seaside town, is a decent, bustling and small town, so it is very easy to explore on foot. You can also rent a bike, but you should be aware that the cobblestone streets can be quite crowded. The motorcycle, which is the first to come to mind when thinking about Italy and transportation, is a very convenient vehicle for exploring the city. But if you are not thinking about going to the surrounding cities and villages, you do not need an automobile to see the city center and tourist attractions.

Public transport in the city is mostly provided by bus. You can buy your bus tickets from buffets, markets, and newspaper vendors. Ticket price is 1.20 euro for one way. When you get on the bus, you must be sure to validate your ticket on the devices inside. If you are traveling with a ticket that has not been activated, you can pay a high fine. The main bus stop is located at S. Antonio Square and the buses running between distances are leaving from here. Florence is only 60 kilometers from Pisa. The train is very comfortable and you can go to Florence in a short time. It departs many times during the day. Once you have received your ticket from the train station, you should definitely remember to validate your ticket before you board the train. Frequent checks are made during the travel, and if you are traveling with a non-validated ticket you will receive a penalty of approximately € 40.

Pisa International Airport is just 1 kilometers from the city center. For this reason, it is possible to reach the city center in a very short time. You can use municipal buses and airport shuttle services, or take a taxi. Some hotels also have an airport shuttle service. If you want to add different routes to your trip, you can rent a car at the airport.

Bus

You can catch buses to the city center from bus stops at the airport terminal exit. Buses depart every 10 minutes. You can get your ticket either at the terminal or at the bus stop. One way ticket price is 1.20 euro.

Taxi

Taxis are waiting for customers in front of the airport arrival terminal exit door. Taxi transportation from the airport to the city center costs between € 6.50 and € 10.00. You can reach the city center and the main train station by taxi in less than 5 minutes. If you are traveling during the weekend, on public holidays or between 22:00 and 06:00, you will be charged an extra 2.50 euros.

Car Rental

At the airport there are offices of some car rental companies. From here you can rent a vehicle that suits your budget comfortably. If you wish, you can make your car ready when you arrive in Pisa by using the internet before your journey. Renting a car to explore the city center can be unnecessary in this small city if you only intend to stay in Pisa. On the other hand, you can go to the surrounding villages and towns with the car you rent and you can reach Florence easily in a short time. You must remember that you must have an international driver's license to be able to rent a car.

Hotel Shuttle

Some hotels such as Pisa Airport Accommodation, Antica Dimora Pisa, B & B Piccolo and Pisa Apartment offer free airport shuttle service to their guests. Likewise, some of the hotels in the city offer this service at a fee. You may wish to check this in advance with your hotel and make them send a vehicle to meet you at the time of arrival of your aircraft.

Shuttle

You can easily reach the city center by using the private shuttle service between Pisa International Airport and the city center. Some shuttle service companies also provide transportation to centers such as Florence, Siena and Lucca.
