Bursa Yenişehir Airport, which is 50 kilometers from the city center, was firstly opened as a military airport in Yunuseli neighborhood and then, the airport served for cargo planes. The airport has been opened to civil air traffic in 2001.

International flights are also arranged at the airport to get to Dusseldorf (Germany), Kuwait and Nicosia (Cyprus). Van Ferit Melen Airport is 5 kilometers away from the city center. Transportation to the city center is provided by taxi, minibus or municipal buses.
