The city center of Kigali, Ruanda's capital, is 5 kilometers away from Kigali International Airport. You can rent a car in the city center if you'd like to, or take a taxi that you can easily find anytime and get to Kigali International Airport.

Those who would like to get to  the airport with five or more passengers can reach Kigali International Airport in about 10 minutes by taking advantage of private transfer services. Those who travel alone can reach the airport at a much cheaper price taking moto taxis.

Taxi

In Kigali city center, you can see taxis waiting for passengers in many places, especially during daylight hours. You will reach the terminals of Kigali International Airport in about 10 minutes with 3 or 4 passengers by taking a taxi. Moreover, you can take your luggage with you comfortably in the trunk of taxi. If you have a large number of luggage, or if you want to travel as a 5-person group, you can choose from the larger transfer service vehicles to get to Kigali International Airport.

Rent a car

There are local and regional car rental companies for the passengers who prefer to rent a car for transportation in Kigali. Those who want to get to the airport terminals by renting a car can reach the airport following the signs "Kigali International Airport" on the 5-kilometer long road. If you get this service from one of the companies having offices at the airport, you can easily deliver the car at the offices at Kigali International Airport. The roads in and around Kigali may seem a little bit confusing at first. However, you can find the airport in a few minutes using the maps that show the area in detail.

If you are going to travel to the nearby cities and towns, you can still take advantage of car rental option.

Moto-Taxi

Moto-Taxi option is quite ideal in this area for those who would like to reach Kigali International Airport in a more practical and fast way from Kigali city center. However, it wouldn't be wrong to feel concerned about the safety of your luggage and yourself when it comes to traveling on moto-taxi. Yet, you can be sure that you will get to the airport much faster than taxis and other transfer options.

Airport Information

Located in the capital city of the country, Kigali International Airport serves a great many passengers traveling in and around Kigali. There are a Business Class passenger lounge, a cafeteria, a currency exchange office, information desk and a standard lounge inside the airport terminals. In addition to the standard services provided at Kigali International Airport, there are special equipment for disabled passengers and areas with playgrounds for the passengers traveling with their children.

You can use the internet connection provided free of charge in the airport terminal and Business Class lounge. Once you arrive at Kigali International Airport by your car, you can park your car for a certain period of time in the large car parking area reserved for passengers outside the terminal.

Don't forget to visit the duty-free store before leaving the airport if you would like to buy gifts like chocolate, perfumes or toys at the last moment. There is a short walking distance between the terminals of Kigali International Airport. So, you can walk from one terminal to another at any time.

Even though Shenzhen Bao’an International Airport is not close to Shenzhen city center, you can easily access the city center with alternative means of transportation. You can always find a taxi at the airport. If you need a vehicle to comfort you during your entire visit, you can also rent a car at the airport. Airport shuttles are also available. If you prefer public transportation means and to keep your transportation expenses at minimum, you can take metro or bus.

Taxi

You can reach city center by taking a taxi from the airport in half an hour on average. Do not forget that there are two types of taxis in the city, red and green; and that green taxis serve to rural areas or distanced locations while the red ones serve within the city. Thus, in order to go to the city center you need to take a red taxi. It costs around 100 yen to go to the city centre by taxi.

Car Rental

Zhizun and China Auto car rental companies serve at the airport. Take the southeast direction on G4 highway with your rental car, and you will be in the city center in about half an hour. You can also rent a car with a driver if your budget is suitable for it.

Metro

It is possible to reach the city center in like 10 minutes with the metro that is operating from 06:30 till 23:30. The ticket costs 2 yen.

Shuttle

There are shuttle buses departing from the airport and going to the city center directly. Shuttles start operating at 07:30 and continue serving till the last flight. The journey lasts around 30-35 minutes under normal conditions.

Bus

You can reach city center or other spots in the city with the public buses operating from the early hours of the day till late hours. Most of the lines are express and thus going to the destination directly. Ground Transportation Center (GTC), located in the luggage delivery point at terminal C, might help you to choose the correct bus for you.
