The capital Port Louis is around 40 km from Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport. You can take the bus, rent a car, or take one of the taxis from the capital of Mahebourg to reach the airport. Private Car

You can follow the A10 if you’re coming to the airport from the direction of Mahebourg. The distance between Mahebourg town centre and the airport is around 6 kilometres, so you can find yourself in front of the terminal entrance quite quickly. If you’re coming from Port Louis then you should follow the M2. The distance from Port Louis is 25 miles, or 40 kilometres, so you should plan accordingly when you set out for the airport. Once you reach Sir Seewoosagur Ramgoolam Airport then you can leave your car at the long and short term car parks in the area.  

Taxi

Taxis are easily available most places and are a quick and practical option for getting to the airport. On the other hand, taking a taxi from Port Louis, which is 40 kilometres away, is going to be a little too pricey to be realistic option. By following this route which is the shortest way, you can be in the city center in about 20 minutes. There is also a limousine rental company at the airport for those who want a luxurious travel.

Taxi / Train

You can get to the city center in about 20 minutes by getting on a taxi departing from the airport terminal building. If you want to reduce your transportation cost, you can go to the nearest train station, Frayere Train Station, by taxi and get on the route TER going to the city center. Frayere Railway Station is about 2 km away from the airport and you can get there in just a few minutes by taxi. The train route TER that you will get on here takes you to the city center in about half an hour.

Hotel Shuttle

Almost all hotels in Cannes offer airport shuttle service for their guests. You can have a very comfortable travel by making a reservation in advance.
