Taxis, buses and minibuses are among the alternatives that provide transportation to the airport from the city center. Traveling by renting a car is a less preferred option.

Taxi

Taxis are the only option to go to the airport at night because buses and minibuses operate in a specific time range. You should be careful that the taxi you get on in the city center have a taximeter. Traveling to the airport by taxi takes 20 minutes although it changes depending on the traffic and weather conditions.

Bus

Bus routes 20 and 11 which you can get on from the stops in the city center provide easy transportation to the terminal building of the airport. It takes half an hour on average to travel by buses. You can also prefer minibus routes 29 and 46 which you can get on in the evening. It takes approximately 40 minutes to reach the airport by minibuses.

Car Rental

Even though renting a car is a less preferred alternative, there are many car rental companies in the city center. The prominent ones of these companies are Europcar, Hertz and Budget.

Strigino Airport is an important airport hosting passengers from all over the world in Nizhny Novgorod. With a two-floor terminal building, Strigino Airport also outstands with services it offers to the passengers. In the terminal, there are sections such as post office, safety-deposit room, first-aid room and a nurse for emergencies.

There is a meeting room, telephone service and photocopy center for business travelers. And internet can be used for free by everyone at the entrance of the terminal.

Passengers can eat and drink in Rospechat Shop and Cafe, which is on the first floor of the terminal building, and do shopping in CAPO Duty Free Shop on the second floor, where more than 10 thousand products are sold.

Besides, there is also a museum so that passengers can spend nice time at the airport. Touring the museum which possesses historical information and documents about the airport is free of charge and the museum can be visited between 09:00 am and 02:00 pm every day during the weekdays.

Airport Hotel, in 500-meter distance to the terminal building inside the airport, has unique attributes to provide the passengers with accommodation services. You can stay at this hotel, which has 64 rooms and free-of-charge eating service, and make it easier to reach the airport.

The city center is only a few kilometers away from Bogorodskoye Airport and reachable in a short amount of time through some different transport options. The quickest method is to take one of the taxis waiting at the terminal exit. If you prefer to use public transport you use a ‘marşrutka’, a type of minibus. This inexpensive journey should take you to the city center in 10-15 minutes, however since the vehicles are quite small it’s not advisable to use them if you are a large group or have a lot of luggage.  There’s no rental car agency in the airport so renting a car isn’t an option to reach the city center, but you can rent one from the car rental agencies in the city once you get there.
