About Adrian
Adrian is a city in Lenawee County, Michigan, United States and it forms the border with the state of Ohio. Situated along the railway between Erie Pennsylvania and Kalamazoo Michigan, the city developed in this regard and is the first city where an iron and wire fence factory was founded. The city provided fences to many different parts of the world and in time became known as the ‘fence capital of the world’. The maple tree is symbol of Adrian, as well as Canada. Several businesses, associations, clubs, and teams use maple in their names.
The city also has businesses that produce sugar from maple trees and other maple products. The city’s parks and mountains attract mountain bikers in particular. Heritage Park and Trestle Park are among the most popular spots in the country for hikers and mountain bikers, thanks in part to the many rivers flowing through them.
Another popular venue in the city is Croswell Opera. Since 1866 it has hosted many events. The opera’s most famous guest is the Adrian City Orchestra, founded in 1838 and considered to be the oldest orchestra in America. Adrian’s only airport is the Lenawee Airport, located 5 kilometers southwest of the city, in the city’s commercial center.
