About Annecy
Annecy is a city that lies on the northern tip of Annecy lake in the Switzerland border of France. Established in 1444 by the Counts of Savoy, the city was conquered by France during the French Revolution. In terms of paragliding, it is one of the most important cities of the world and it hosted the Paragliding World Cup. It attracts a large number of tourists who want to do paragliding. The most historical and charming parts of the city to be visited are La Vieille Region, Le Semnoz, Charles Park, Visitation Basilica and Annecy Castle. You can also rent an electric bicycle and spend enjoyable time around the lake.
The winters are cold and the summers are not generally too hot. We can say that the best periods to visit the city are summer and spring months. The nearest place to be reached by plane is Geneva, Switzerland. If you don’t have any trouble about Swiss visa, you can travel here from Geneva. The distance between the city and Geneva is 35 kilometers. Annecy also has a small airport called Mont Blanc.
