Aruba is one of the Netherlands Antilles, located 29 kilometers off Venezuela, south Caribbean. The island is one of the Leeward Antilles, collectively known as the ABC islands, and it is one of the four countries of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. The capital of Aruba is Oranjestad and being a constituent country, they are bound to the monarch of the Kingdom of the Netherlands. Aruba’s economy mainly depends on five industries; tourism, gold and phosphate mining, aloe export, and oil refining. The currency of Aruba is Florin, which is the previous currency of the Netherlands, before the Euro. Officially called the Aruba Florin, it is almost equivalent to the USD and Euro.
The population of Aruba is around 100 thousand and the island is quite suitable for tourism due to its climate, as the annual average temperature is 20 °C at the lowest. Aruba is known for its famous beaches and Dutch and Spanish colonial structures. The only airport on the island, the Queen Beatrix Airport, is located four kilometers from the capital city of Oranjestad. Transportation from the airport takes about ten minutes by bus or by car.
