About Bandar Mahshahr
Bandar Mahshahr is an ancient port city located in the province of Khuzistan in southwestern Iran. The city was first known as Reyshahr and later as Machuleh. In the year of 1965, the city's name was changed to Bandar-e Mah Shahr.
In the city, which means “the city of the moon” in Persian, there is a population of approximately 110 thousand people. The majority of the local people speak Persian. Bandar Mahshahr has two universities, which are Islamic Azad University of Mahshahr and Amirkabir University of Technology, and both universities focus on engineering programs, especially petroleum and petrochemical engineering.
In addition to all these, this city, where the airport (Mahshahr Airport) is located, has the desert climate and the temperature is measured as 25.3 degrees Celsius annually.
