Beyşehir is one of the 32 districts of Konya province and is located 91 kilometers of Konya city center. The district takes its name from Lake Beyşehir which is the third largest freshwater lake of our country. The history of the district bears the traces of many civilizations such as Hittites, Persians, Assyrians and Ottomans. In the district where you will come across historical remains as if you are visiting an open-air museum, there are many places to be definitely visited. Some of these places are Hittite Fountain Monument and god statues, Kybele Temple, Heracles Tomb, Akburun Cube Mausoleums, Kısfatan and Gündoğdu Mounds, Bayındır Mosque, Kireli Mosque, Kubad-Abad Palace, Eşrefoğlu Mosque and Castle Gate. There are many natural beauties such as the deep caves, hot springs and picnic areas around the Lake Beyşehir. The number of tourists visiting the region is increasing day by day. The lake, which is a National Park, offers spectacular nature views with its trekking areas and beaches.
The district which looks like a human heart on the map in terms of its shape has the characteristics of Central Anatolian and Mediterranean climates. The summers are arid and short while winters are cold. The economy of the district is based on agriculture and animal husbandry. You can reach Beyşehir from almost all points by land. If you prefer flying, you can reach Konya which is the closest airport. The distance between Konya Airport and Beyşehir is approximately 84 kilometers. You can reach the district by taxis or services.
