About Faisalabad
Faisalabad, located in Punjab, west of Pakistan, is the third largest city in the country. At the same time, the city, which is also the commercial center of the region, has a population of about 2 and a half million people according to 2006 data. There is also a large thermal power plant in the city that continues its economy with oil, sugar, canned food, fertilizer factories, cotton weaving industry. In the city which is settled about 184 meters above sea level, the Chenab River flows 30 kilometers to the north. There are many neighboring districts around this city which have no natural borders with the neighboring provinces. While the hot desert climate means visitors will experience extreme heat in Faisalabad, the temperature can reach as high as 50C in summer. In winter, the temperature can fall to as low as -2C. The religion that is widespread in the city is known as Islam, but Christians and people of other faiths also live there as well. The spoken language is known extensively as Punjabi, but different dialects can be found in it.
