About Foz Do Iguacu
Foz do Iguaçu, one of the most beautiful cities of Brazil, is located in the state of Paraná. Most of the tourists coming to Paraguay and Argentina also visit Foz do Iguaçu because the world-famous Iguaçu Falls (also spelled as Iguazu and Iguassu) are located in this city. In addition to the cities of Ciudad del Este (Paraguay) and Puerto Iguazu (Argentina), Foz do Iguaçu is also one of the most touristic cities in the South America. The city is dominated by the tropical climate and is therefore a place to visit all year round. The word Iguaçu means "plenty of water" in Tupi-Guarani language. You can go to the Iguaçu Falls (Cataratas do Iguaçu) by getting on the bus route Aeroporto / Parque 120 from the bus station. Being one of the most visited places in Brazil, a part of the Iguaçu Falls is located on Argentina borders and a part is located in Foz do Iguaçu. To visit the Iguaçu Waterfalls National Park, where water flows three times faster than the Niagara Falls and which offers a great view, you need to pay 52 Brazilian Real by 2017. If you wish, you can visit the national park with a guide or explore the beauties of this park by yourself. Parque das Aves (Bird Park) is a park with very interesting exotic birds and is in close proximity to the entrance of the Iguaçu Falls. You can take photos with the birds, agree with a guide before getting into the park, and get information about exotic bird species. Located in a 17-hectare natural forest near the Iguaçu Falls National Park, there are about 900 birds in 180 different species. The park also has a section with 25 butterfly species and reptiles. In the park, there are services such as souvenir shop, eating and drinking areas, parking lot etc. The entrance fee is only 34 Brazilian Real. The most famous water parks of Brazil are also located in Foz do Iguaçu. Some of them are Parque Aquático Acquamania, Parque Aquático Lago de Itaipu and Hotéis Resort Termas.
