Ko Pha-Ngan, located in the Samui Archipelago, is an island in south of the Gulf of Thailand and connected to Surat Thani Province. The island, which is adjacent to Ko Samui and Ko Tao islands, has a population of 12,000 people. Ko Pha-Ngan is very popular with Full Moon, the world's biggest and famous beach party, but it has much more than crazy parties.
The unique tropical beaches, coral reefs, waterfalls and very green forests of Ko Pha-Ngan, known as the coconut island, attract a great number of visitors to the island... Haad Rin Beach, the most crowded settlement of the island, is home to big parties, and also has luxurious and budget-friendly bungalows.
Ban Tai and Ban Kai are among the most preferred beaches since they are home to many parties. Thong Sala is the island's main ferry port. In Ko Pha-Ngan, the volcanic peninsula Sri Thanu, Haad Son, Haad Chao Phao and Chalok Lam are among the many non-touristic beaches that you can visit for relaxing.
The best time to visit the island is the period between December and March. In these months, the water is quite clean and convenient to swim. The closest airport to Ko Pha-Ngan Island is Samui located in the district of Ko Samui. From here, you can reach the island in about 30 minutes by Seatran Discovery ferryboat.
