Leukerbad is located in the district of Leuk, in the canton of Valais in north Switzerland. Leukerbad attracts the attention of both domestic and foreign tourists thanks to its impressive nature and being the biggest thermal spring town of the Alps.

The healing water of Leukerbad and thermal spring culture has a history of thausands of years. Having 65 springs, the healing water is distributed to thermal baths. This water rich in minerals is useful for mainly muscles, joint diseases and the rheumatism. Also, it offers you an activity in which the whole family can have fun together.

Leukerbad Therme is the widest thermal spa centre of the Alps, located in a fascinated mountain region, 1.400 metres above the sea level. You can also try Walliser Alpentherme, another spa centre surrounded with the gorgeous mountain view.

The longest climbing site of the Alps, Klettersteig Gemmi-Daubenhorn is located in Leukerbad. This climbing site gives you an opportunity to climb up a mountain route where steel cables and ladders are installed. If you define yourself as a nature- and sports- enthusiast,  you should definitely try this route where you can experience both hiking and climbing. On condition that you complete this route, you will reach 2941 metres above the sea level.

One of the activities that can be tried by both amateurs and professionals, is called Gemmi Pass. It is a high mountain pass at a height of 2.270 metres connecting Kandersteg and Luekerbad.

In Luekerbad where you can find both local and world cuisine, you may need to budget for food and beverage. The temperature rises and the rain stops as from March in this city. Therefore, the ideal time to visit Luekerbad is the period between April to October.
