About Loja
Loja, which is located in Loja Province of Ecuador, is the capital city and lies in the Cuxibamba valley in the north of the region. The city which has borders with Zamora-Chinchipe and El Oro has also border with the north of Peru. In the city, known as the center of culture and music in Ecuador, rich artistic traditions are experienced. In the city where two big universities are located, there is a population of about 180 thousand people. Located 2060 meters above sea level, the city has a mild Andean climate ranging from 16 to 30 degrees in terms of temperature. In Loja, which is home to the first wind power plant of Ecuador, there are many music and salsa groups.
Some of the most important places to be visited in the city; Puerta de la Ciudad Gate, San Francisco Church, Cathedral, Santo Domingo Church, monuments, San Sebastian Church, La Banda Park, Jipiro and Jardin Botanical Garden.
