About Mykonos town

The town Mykonos which has the same name as the island, is Greece's most famous island in the Aegean Sea and has been a favorite destination of world tourism since the 1960s. Mykonos Town is on an island with a 89 km long coastline, is one of the top holiday destinations of the world water sport enthusiasts, especially high level income Greeks. Not only for sea-sand-sun, but the island is also famous for its colourful night entertainment that lasts until the morning and during the summer its population almost doubles by five.

Matoyianni Street is the most popular street in the town and is full of shops where you can shop for leather goods and jewellery, and while walking on this street you may encounter many international famous people. The most photogenic place in Mykonos Town is the region called 'Little Venice'. Here you can visually see the houses lining the sea line and you can find out about the rumors of the pirates. For those who love night entertainment, the town is the address of the wildest entertainment in the Aegean. Vehicle roads are closed in the evening and the music is not muted until the morning.

With a Mediterrranean climate, the 17th century Panagia Paraportiani Church is one of the most beautiful examples of Cycladic architecture, located on the hills of the town and is the most famous architectural structure you can see in the town. We also recommend that you visit, the Archeology Museum, the Maritime Museum and the Folklore Museum, where the works from neighboring islands are also exhibited, which are important points for the town, where for a long time the towns mytholgoy is described.

During the summer months there are many charter flights organised to many European and Middle Eastern countries. Mykonos Airport is 4 kilometers away from the town center and you can transfer to town by taxi and bus.
