Louis Armstrong International Airport is an international airport serving the State of Louisiana in the USA. The airport is located 11 km from New Orleans and is named after New Orleans Jazz musician Louis Armstrong. In 2005, Louis Armstrong International Airport sustained damage in areas during hurricane Katrina and after restoration work was carried out the same year, it started to continue its flight operations. In 1940, Louis Armstrong Airport was built in place of Shushan Airport and annually is close to serving 20 million passengers.
