Ponte de Lima is one of the oldest settlements in Portugal and is part of the district Viana do Castelo, which covers an area of ​​approximately 320 thousand square kilometers. Ponte de Lima, has a population of about 2800  inhabitants and it is named after the long medieval bridge that passes over the Lima River in Northern Portugal. You can visit the Adega Cooperativa de Ponte de Lima and taste the most delicious, locally produced Vinho Verde wine and observe the traditional local wine production that has been carried out since the Romans dominated Ponte de Lima and you can also taste the wine. You should not end your trip to Ponte de Lima without visiting the bronze bull statue built in the memory of Vaca Das Cordas, located in Rua Cardeal Saraiva. You may also want to take your trip at the same time as the Feiras Novas fair, which takes place in the middle of September every year and lasts for 3 days.

You can continue your journey by visiting the magnificent architectures and historical buildings in Largo de Camoes, the town's main square. In the other square of the town, there is an eye-catching bronze statue of Earl of Aurora, born in Ponte de Lima on April 19, 1896. Ponte de Lima is located 90 km north of Porto and 25 km east of Viana do Castelo and is also very close to Braga. You can get there by taking the airport taxis from Porto, which is the nearest airport, or by taking a bus to Viana do Castelo. You can also visit Alameda de S. Joao and the Avenida d. Luis Felipe while in Ponte de Lima, and you can also go to the Capela de Santo Antonio da Torre Velha which has exquisite river views and you can capture great photo memories.
