With its long beaches spreading in an area of 100 square kilometre, Rayong attracts both local and foreign tourists with plenty of soft sand beaches, including the ones in Ko Samet Island that has a fantastic climate. The beaches such as Hat Sai Kaew are famous for the fun parties organized. However, Rayong has quiet and peaceful beaches as well. Therefore, these beaches are mainly preferred by the families with children who would like to swim and sunbathe during their vacation.

You can taste the most delicious seafoods such as shrimps, octopus etc. in various restaurants along these unique and beautiful beaches in Rayong. Since it has a great reputation for its beaches, consequently, Rayong has also become a centre for the water sports.In addition to the hand-line fishing, snorkelling and scuba diving activities held in the city, Rayong has some golf clubs in several areas.  

Another reason why Rayong is among the top touristic destinations in Thailand is Rayong Aquarium. This place lets the visitors have the opportunity to move along the gigantic aquariums, and see both common marine species such as crab, oyster, and cuttlefish, and also rarely seen marine animals such as Irrawaddy dolphin, humpback dolphin, etc.

The King Taksin Shrine, dedicated to the King Taksin who liberated Thailand, also previously known as Siam, is visited the most on December 28, on the King Taksin Memorial Day which is accepted as a new year according to the Chinese Calendar. Built in 1943 and called as USS Gallup, this American frigate is now displayed in Klaeng as HTMS Prasae Memorial. Sold to the Royal Thai Navy during the Korean War, this frigate still has guns in it and that is why you can enter into only the deck during your visit.
