San Marino, which is the capital of the Republic of San Marino and one of the nine municipalities in the country, has a population of about 4 thousand people. Located near the peak of Monte Titano, the city stands at 750 meters above sea level. The city center is Monte Titano added to the UNESCO World Heritage List in 2008. The most important attractions of the city are the Three Towers of San Marino, the Palazzo Pubblico and San Marino Basilica.

The economy of the city depends on trade, stamp sale and agricultural industry. In addition, it is an important tourist destination thanks to welcoming more than three million tourists each year. 85% of the tourists coming to the city are Italians. In San Marino, which has long, winding and complicated streets, you need to get over the steep and high parts in order to reach the highway. There are regular bus services to Rimini from the city. In addition, Borgo Maggiore can be reached by the 1.5 km aerial tramway.
