Taxi is the most preferred means of transportation to get to the center of Shiraz from Shahid Dastghaib International Airport. However, if you need a comfortable means of transportation during your travel, you can rent a car at the airport. Bus and metro alternatives are available for passengers who want to keep their transportation costs at the lowest level. However, the stops of both bus and metro are at the airport exit and are not recommended for travellers with large or heavy luggage.

Car Rental

Europcar company is offering car rental service at the airport. You can reach the city center in 15 minutes with the car you rent driving northwest on Modarres Boulevard.

Taxi

You can always find a taxi at the airport. Since the oil prices are low in Iran, taxis are among the most preferred means of transportation. However, be careful about the fares and ask the driver to turn on the taximeter. If necessary, you can bargain with the driver. Under normal traffic conditions, it is possible to reach the city center in 15 minutes by taxi.

Bus

If you want to keep your transportation costs low and your luggage is not heavy, you can reach Shiraz city center in half an hour by getting on a bus from the stop one kilometer away from the airport.

Metro

Metro stop is located at a short walking distance at the airport exit. You can get to the city center in just 15 minutes.

You can go to Shahid Dastghaib Internatioal Airport from Shiraz city center with a rental car. Since the taxi fares in the city are affordable, taxis are the most frequently used means of transportation. On the other hand, it is also possible to reach nearby the airport with bus or metro. However, if you prefer these means of transportation, keep in mind that you have to walk a distance; thus, if you have many and/or heavy luggage they are not suggested.

Car Rental

There are many local rental car companies in the city. For finding a trustworthy company you can consult your hotel. You can easily reach Shahid Dastghaib Internatioal Airport by taking the Modarres Boulevard with your rental car in southeast direction and following the airport signs. The journey would take 15 minutes under normal traffic conditions.  

Taxi

Taxi is a commonly used means of transportation in the city. Because of this, you can easily find a taxi every hour of the day. But you have to be careful about the fares. If necessary, do not hesitate to bargain with the driver and keep in mind that taxi fares are affordable. It is possible to reach the airport in 15 minutes by taxi.

Bus

Buses are the most affordable means of transportation. But you should keep in mind that the stop you will get off is about one kilometer away from the airport. If you are traveling by bus to the airport, remember to consider the number of pieces and weight of your luggage, and the weather conditions.

Metro

Metro is also an affordable option. The metro stop that you will get off at is also walking distance to the airport. Even though the metro ride would last 15 minutes, you should keep in mind that you will have to walk to the airport.

Airport Information

Shahid Dastghaib Internatioal Airport, shortly known as Shiraz International Airport, is one of the biggest and most modern airports of Iran.  

Charter flights, cargo transportation and seasonal flights to cities such as Adana, Antalya, Tbilisi, Jeddah and Medina are also arranged from the airport where regular flights are operated to many cities.

The airport is eight kilometers away from the city center. Besides the coffees and restaurants, there are also various stores at the airport. Since Iran is a Muslim country ruled in line with sharia, keep in mind that woman passengers need to cover up their heads at the airport, there are no alcoholic beverages sold at the airport including the duty free store and it is forbidden to consume alcohol.
