Trnava is a city along the Trnavka River in western Slovakia. The city is also known a ‘Little Rome’ due to the classical architectural style of the city. Even though there’s a good network of buses for public transport, most sightseeing destinations are close enough to reach by walking. Another option is to rent a bike and make use of the city’s bicycle routes.
St. John the Baptist Cathedral and The Basilica of St. Nicholas, which is a gothic building, both deserve a visit as they are architectural structures that are symbol of Trnava. The old town, called the Townhouses, will take you back in time with its beautifully preserved historic texture. Trinity Square and the surrounding area, especially Stefanikova and Hlavna streets, are good shopping locations. The Trnava Festival, that's held every September, brings a fun and vibrant atmosphere to the city.
All four seasons can be felt in the climate of Trnava. The temperature can rise up to 24 degrees during the summer and can fall to -4 degrees in the winter months.
