Veysonnaz, which is a small mountain village in Valais in the southwest of Switzerland, has a population of approximately 700. Veysonnaz has an area of 1.1 kilometers. Nearly half of this area consists of forested land. Veysonnaz located in the foothills of the Alps is a popular winter sports center and is home to various competitions and championships.

In the beginning of the summer, cows are taken to the mountain and the tradition of cow fighting still continues in Veysonnaz.

In the summer months, the temperature is measured between 11 degrees and 21 degrees. In the region, rainfall is seen all year long and in the winter months, the amount of precipitation increases.
