About Wellington

Wellington, the capital of New Zealand, is a port city on the shores of the Cook Strait, separating the North and South islands constituting the country. Transportation to Wellington City Center from Airport

Wellington buses depart from the airport every 10 minutes between 06:30 am - 09:00 am and 02:00 pm - 07:00 pm on weekdays, and every 20 minutes at other hours.

Lower Hutt buses depart from Wellington Airport every 20 minutes during the day and they drive the front of the Queensgate Mall in Lower Hutt.

You can also take bus with the number 2 to travel to places like Karori, Seatoun Wellington and Hataitai.

Bicycle

If you want to come to the city center from the airport by using your bike, you should follow the State Highway route. The distance between the airport and the center is 6 kilometers, and this distance takes about 30 minutes by using a bicycle. There are bicycle rental parking spaces on the ground floor for passengers at Wellington Airport, which is a bicycle-friendly airport. If this is your choice, you must lock your bike to the parking area using a quality lock. It is also useful to not leave your bike parked for too long to prevent any damage.
