Valencia, located on the east coast of Spain and a Mediterranean city famous for its Fallas Festival, is the capital of the autonomous community of Valencia and the third-largest city in Spain. For travelling to Valencia, established around the Turia River, you need to fly to Valencia Airport. The place known as the central region of the city is called Plaza de Espana. Calle de la Paz represents the historical part of the city. Estación del Norte is the central railway station located near the city center. Valencia consists of six different regions.

Bus

Buses called Line 150 Valencia - Manises - Aeropuerto provide transportation to the airport from Plaza de Espana.

The buses run every twenty-five minutes and arrive at the airport in about thirty minutes. Bus services can continue until 09:30 pm or 10:00 pm according to their schedules. In addition, there are more than forty bus lines offering service in the city. By using the buses, you can easily get to your destination in the city.

After midnight, the night buses, numbered with the letter N, continue operating to the commonly visited parts of the city. Another alternative to reach the airport from the city is the bus services called Aerobus. These services, which run every twenty minutes, are operating between 06:00 am and 10:00 pm. The fares of these services are slightly higher than the bus fares.

Metro

In the city, there are metro lines connecting the central railway station with the airport. The trains running through this line operate every eight minutes and reach the airport in about twenty minutes. If you are close to a station that is in the direction of Maritim-Serreria, you can use the red metro line 3; if you are close to a station that is in the direction of Rafebunyol, you can use the green metro line 5 for arriving at the airport. The railway system, which consists of six lines, is called Metro Valencia. Line 1, also known as the yellow line, offers transportation service between Bétera and Villanueva de Castellon stations; Line 2, also known as the pink line, offers transportation service between Torrent Avinguda and Lliria stations; Line 7, also known as the orange line, offers transportation service between Torrent Avinguda and Maritim-Serreria stations; Line 9, also known as the brown line, offers transportation service between Riba-roja de Turia and Rosas stations. There are many stations offering the option of transferring between each other. The metro network is not enough to provide transportation to every part of the city. Nevertheless, it is possible to reach many central parts of the city by using rail system. If you plan to use metro frequently in the city, buying Bonometro tickets for two or three days will be more appropriate for your budget.

Tramway Metro

Valencia's lines 4, 6 and 8 are a tramway system that goes above ground; you can travel between Mas del Rosari and Dr. Among Lluch stations by using Line 4; between Tossal del Rei and Dr. Among Lluch stations by using Line 6; between Maritim-Serreria and Marina Reial Joan Carles I stations by using Line 8. These lines offer transfer option between themselves and between metro lines in many stations.

There is no direct tramway line to the airport. However, you can get to the airport by transferring to metro line 3 in Benimaclet station to where you have come with tramway line 4 and metro line 5 in Maritim-Serreria station to where you have come with tramway lines 6 and 8.

Train

Train is also a frequently preferred rail system in Valencia. There are six train lines offering transportation service throughout the city. You can travel to the southeast part of the city by using train line C-1, to the southwest part by using the line C-2, to the west part by using the line C-3, to the part between the east and the center by using the line C-4, to the northwest part by using the line C-5 and to the northeast part by using the line C-6.

Car Rental

You can rent a car with the help of various companies located in the city. Alternatively, it is possible to make an online reservation before your flight. When traveling in the city, renting a bicycle is also a popular alternative to renting a car. There are approximately two hundred and fifty locations in Valencia where you can rent a bicycle. You can use the bicycle that you will rent from one of these locations for seven days without any limitation. First half an hour of use is free. The annual bicycle rental alternatives are more affordable for those planning to stay in the city for more than two weeks.

Taxi

Airport Information

Metro

You can take the Rafelbunyol line (number 3) or Marítim Serrería line (number 5) of Valencia metro from the city centre and get to the airport in a short time. Metro is also the best option you can choose to travel quickly without being caught in traffic. If you have heavy luggages with you, you may also consider the option of taking a taxi to a metro station then transferring to the metro.

Bus

In Valencia, buses are a popular vehicle of transportation to the airport. Buses pass through many central locations in the city, and they provide a fast and affordable option for traveling to the airport. You can get to Valencia Airport directly from the regions such as Mislata, Manises or Quart de Poblet by taking the bus line 150. You can pay the bus fare when you get on the bus. Although traveling to Valencia Airport by bus is an affordable option, it is not as fast as traveling by taxi or rental car. So if your priority is a fast and comfortable vehicle, you should consider rental cars or taxis which can be found easily in the city centre.

Taxi

Passengers often prefer taxis for traveling to Valencia Airport from the city centre as well. As the distance between the airport and the city centre is quite short, taxi fees do not cost much. Taxi fares are lower during the day and on the week days, but they get a bit higher in the night and on the weekends. There are two meeting rooms with different capacities in service for business travelers in Valencia Airport. If you wish to use these meeting rooms at the airport you can get information by reaching by telephone and make reservation for your meetings. When you need to make a phone call at the airport, you can use the phones located in several parts of the terminal. If you want to get something to drink or have a snack, you can use the vending machines. Shops such as Valencia Duty Free and Las Lilas, The Fashion Place, Thinking Espana, Divers, News & Books and Valencia Duty Free are waiting for Valencia visitors who want to shop.

At the airport you will also find numerous options such as Café & Té, Caffè Ritazza, Farggi, Starbucks and So! Coffee, where you can sample Spanish and international cuisine. You can get to the city center from the Sabiha Gökçen Airport using the TEM highway and following the exit and street signs. The airport is also accessible by city buses and Havataş shuttles. If you want to leave your car at the airport there is an outdoor parking lot and a multi-story parking lot. There are also some private parking facilities located around the airport.  

Taxi

The fastest and most convenient way to get to the city center from Sabiha Gökçen Airport is by taxi. However, when taking a taxi the most important factor to consider is the traffic. If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to lose time we suggest taking a taxi to a certain point and then transferring to the metro or metrobus. This way you can avoid traffic, even during rush hour.

Havabus

The Havabus shuttle buses provide transportation between Sabiha Gökçen Airport and central locations in the city like Taksim on the European side and Kadikoy and Yenisahra on the Anatolian side. The shuttle buses provide quick and comfortable transportation to and from the airport every 30 minutes.

Marmaray

The Marmaray is a faster alternative for those living on the European side in particular. You can take a taxi or bus to the Kartal metro stop, then get on the metro and continue in the Kadıköy direction. Get off at Ayrılık Çeşmesi and transfer to the Marmaray where you can cross to the European side of the city at the Yenikapı station. From Yenikapı, which is a major station for the metro, buses, and ferries, you can reach many central locations on the European side of the city. Sea buses and ferries to various places in the Marmara Region like Bandırma, Yalova, Avşa, Bursa and Çınarcık depart from the Yenikapı İDO pier. Moreover, you can travel with your vehicle on the ferries.

Bus

You can get to the city center from Sabiha Gökçen Airport by bus.

By getting off at the Kadiköy or Bostanci piers you can take a boat to Istanbul’s Princes’ Islands, like Buyukada, Heybeliada, Burgazada and Kinaliada.

Metro

From the airport you can take a bus or taxi to the Kartal metro station and get on the Kadikoy-Kaynarca line in the Kadikoy direction.

Rental Cars

You can get to the city center by renting a car from various rental agencies at the airport. You can also return your rental vehicle to rental agencies located in the city. If you are traveling between multiple places make sure to specify your vehicle pick up and drop off location when making your reservation. 

You can get to the city center from Atatürk Airport, located on the European side of Istanbul, by taxi, airport shuttles, metro, bus, private transportation services or your personal car. The most important factor to consider when picking your means of transportation to reach the city center is the traffic. Using alternative means of transportation, like a combination of taxi, metro or metrobus, during rush hour will save time.

The fastest and most convenient way to get to the city center from Atatürk Airport is by taxi. However, when taking a taxi the most important factor to consider is the traffic. If you’re in a hurry and don’t want to lose time we suggest taking a taxi to a certain point and then transferring to the metro or metrobus. This way you can avoid traffic, even during rush hour. Some taxis accept credit card payments. If you want to pay using your credit card make sure to indicate this before hand to the driver and get in a vehicle that accepts credit card payments.

Havabus

The Havabus shuttle buses provide transportation between Atatürk Airport and central locations in the city. The Havatas shuttles provide service to and from Taksim and Yenikapi IDO Pier every 30 minutes.

Bus

You can use public buses to get to the city center from Atatürk Airport. Using the istanbulkart (smart card for fare payment), this is the most economical alternative. From the airport you can use the TH-1 bus to get to Taksim and the YH-1 bus to get to Yenikapi. From Taksim and Yenikapi you can transfer to the metro to reach other central districts.   

Metro

One of the fastest alternatives to get to the city center is by metro. Using the metro station that is located in the airport you can easily reach various parts of the city like Yenikapı, Aksaray, Fatih, Topkapı, and Esenler. If you’re planning on continuing your journey to a different city by bus, the metro goes to the Esenler Bus Station.  

Rental Cars

You can get to the city center by renting a car from rental agencies such as AVIS, Budget, or Europcar both at the airport or various locations in the city like Beşiktaş, Taksim, Kadıköy, Bostancı and Bakırköy. You can also return your rental vehicle to the offices of the aforementioned companies located in the city. If you are traveling between multiple places make sure to specify your vehicle pick up and drop off location when making your reservation.
