Located on the northeastern coast of Jamaica, Port Antonio is 100 kilometers from Kingston, the country's capital. The city, which is home to about 13,000 people, is the third major port of the island, and a major shipping point for bananas and coconuts. Blue Lagoon is one of the popular resort destinations in Port Antonio, where tourism activities have positive effect on the city economy. Other destinations include Frenchman's Cove Beach, Folly Mansion and the Historic DeMontevin Club. There is also a railway line for freight transport between Kingston and Spnaish Town.
